Mexico City: Vacation and Places to Visit




Mexico is a fashionable and happening place to see and this is why the city is seeing a constant influx of tourists all the year round. Mexico City is also known for its buzzing nightlife, splendid museums, attractive markets and inexpensive restaurants.

One of the highest cities of North America, Mexico City is surrounded by ice-capped mountains and volcanoes and has a rich history seeped in ancient Aztec civilization. Mexico City is densely populated and is noted for its enthralling places and attractions. The City enjoys a mild climate all year round. You can visit this city during spring which is the ideal time to travel.

Places to see

City Square

Mexico's City square is very famous and is built using the stones of the ancient temples and palaces. It is considered to be the second biggest in the world next in place to Moscow's Red Square. The City is also dotted by colorful and vibrant markets and stalls offering various products.

The National Museum of Anthropology/Teotihuacan

The Bosque de Chapultepec Park is home to the National Museum of Anthropology which has an interesting display of pre-Hispanic artefacts. You can see the Pyramid of the sun and the moon in Teotihuacán which is a must see place for tourists. It is also a mysterious and unique archaeological site in Mexico.

El Zocalo

The second largest city square in the world is the enormous Plaza de la Constitución, or Zócalo. This is the cen
ter of Mexico City's religion and government.


Templo Mayor

Templo Mayor or Great temple occupied a prime place during the Aztec era and is said to be at the centre of the universe.

Palacio de Bellas Artes

This is a large park that lies at the end of the Alameda Central. The splendid architecture of this building which is a majestic white marble structure must be seen and enjoyed by travelers to Mexico City.


San Angel

San Angel is an exclusive neighborhood which was previously a separate village. Nice mansions and colonial style buildings can be seen along the streets of this place.


Zona Rosa

The Zona Rosa meaning Pink Zone is the most important district of Mexico City that is famous for its shopping and night club facilities. Tourists will find the shops, bars, restaurants and boutiques in this place very useful and convenient.

Xochimilco

For seeing a stunning view of floating gardens and canals, you can head to Xochimilco. This place offers a carnival type of ambience every weekend. There are also floating vendors who can be selling items such as flowers, beer and food. You can have one of the most memorable experiences of Mexico City in this place.

Mexico City is characterized by places of historical ruins, beautiful cathedrals, monuments and buildings, lush green spaces and sky touching skyscrapers which can make your travel experience a truly enjoyable one. The City is noted for its frenetic pace, economic, cultural and political landmarks and offers unending reserve of vibrancy and life.
